FAQs

Wedding planning can be overwhelming and choosing your wedding photographer can be a somewhat daunting process. How do you choose? Do you go with a recommendation from a friend or family member or rely on good old Google?

To offer a little help, I’ve compiled a collection of FAQs that I’m asked the most by couples enquiring about their wedding.

Please do read through them all and if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to give me a call. I’ll happily chat through anything you need to know ahead of your big day.

first things first…

These are the questions I pretty much always get asked

Maybe the most important question of all. Drop me a message with your wedding date and venue. I’ll check I’m available and then we can chat all things wedding either in person or via video call – whichever is easiest and most convenient for you. I offer all dates on a first come, first serve basis – but will always let you know if there is a demand for that date.

Absolutely yes…and I haven’t missed one yet! Illness would be the only thing that prevented me from attending a wedding I’m booked for and if this was the case, I have a number of dependable, trusted, professionally qualified photographer friends who shoot in a very similar style to me. Alternatively, my wife Helen, also a professional photographer and would be on hand to step in.

17 years, 283 weddings and counting! I’m a professionally qualified photographer, graduating in 2001 with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Photography Arts, which I’m actually very proud of.

Yes, of course. Click here to take a look at just some of the fabulous weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.

Yes, I can. Me! I also provide a videography service as I am able to photograph and video in tandem, which is fabulous for ensuring you get the same style all the way through.

I have professional indemnity and public liability insurance for both me and my equipment and I’m happy to say I’ve never had to use it. To ease your mind, I always carry a selection of cameras and lenses should anything go awry. I also constantly back up my cards throughout the day, so your pictures stay completely safe.

My Style

Photographing a wedding is a big job. Your photographer is responsible for creating lasting memories of your big day. The photographs and videos created on the day will be the ones you look back on for many years to come.

My style of photography is elegant, stylish, creative, natural, relaxed and fun. I love to capture things as they unfold, most of the time, without you or your guests even knowing I’m there. Just before your wedding, I will send a shot list where you can outline your absolute ‘must have’ pictures. While I favour the natural shots, there is still a place for the formal pictures that your parents, grandparents and relatives will display for years to come.

Absolutely! Let’s face it…we’ll both get the pictures we want if we’re all relaxed and having fun.Of course. I will do everything I can to make you and your guests feel at ease, a skill I’ve acquired over the years as a professional photographer. Most of the time, you won’t even realise I’m there, snapping away.

My Pricing and Packages

I understand all weddings and budgets are different, so I’m happy to tailor a package for you.

As with most wedding photographers, I have different levels of pricing and packages. I know that all weddings are unique and everyone might require something a little different.

To give you an idea, all my packages typically include:

As many pre-wedding meetings as you feel you need. Usually these are done via video call with at least one meeting being in person either at your venue or church

Unlimited coverage of your big day

Fully edited gallery of usually around 600-800 shots, password protected for you to share with family & friends

Travel and accommodation, unless slightly further afield then we’d agree on any extra requirements

If you require more or less, I am very flexible and can work out a bespoke package for you. Optional extras include engagement shoots, a second photographer and video highlight film to name a few.

Different couples will want different things from their wedding photography. So many couples like pre-wedding shoot as practice for the big day or so they can use them in the lead up to the wedding. If you’d like me to cover anything else like a rehearsal dinner, just let me know. I’m happy to tailor a package for you.

I only take on one wedding per day, so a typical day will start two hours before the ceremony and end an hour after the first dance. If you have anything special planned outside these times that you’d like me to capture, let me know – I’m happy to stay later or start earlier if you need me.

Home for me is Addlestone in Surrey. Most of my weddings are based around this area, so I don’t charge any extra for travel. However, I do love to travel, so if your wedding is further afield or even outside of the UK, let’s chat. I’ve been lucky enough to shoot weddings in Mexico, Ireland and France, so whatever you’re planning, let me know; I’m happy to travel anywhere.

Prints and Albums

My commitment to you doesn’t stop after your big day.

I will send a ‘sneak peek’ of around 20-30 images 24-48 hours after your wedding for you to share. I aim to edit and deliver your photographs/video to a password-protected gallery within four weeks of your wedding.

Absolutely, I can. I can design the album with any photos of your choice and have an excellent UK based supplier whose products I absolutely love. Alternatively, I can help I can suggest some excellent suppliers.

From a typical wedding day, you will receive around 600-800 photographs, all hand-retouched by me in our studio. The final amount of photos may vary depending on the number of guests and the length of time I’m at your wedding.

Of course, all of your final photographs will be uploaded to a password-protected gallery. You can share this with family and friends and prints can be purchased from there.

ready to book?

Here’s what you need to do…

Give me a call or drop me a note via email. If you prefer, you can use the contact form on my website and I’ll send you a booking form and contract. To secure your date, please complete the booking form, sign the contract and send it back to me at your earliest convenience.

To secure your date, I ask for a 25% deposit. This ensures your date is confirmed in the diary. Details of how to pay are on the booking form. I’ll confirm everything via email, along with a receipt for your records.

We want to blend in so we tend to wear smart trousers and a subtly branded neutral polo shirt. We wouldn’t want to stand out at your wedding, but having the subtle branding helps your guests, the wedding team and any other suppliers know who I am.

As mentioned earlier, yes, me and my equipment are fully insured. I carry so many spare batteries and memory cards and my back-up equipment is always ready to go too.

If you have any other questions at all, big small, please use the contact form to send me a little message.
